I just got a new gecko, and I was wondering if I was to go for a walk in the woods and find a couple small logs if I would be able to use them in its aquarium?

  1. no they live on ground..in the wild too....and if you deside to put wood.. make sure you clean...

  2. yeah you can just soak it water then put in the freezer over night and kills all of the bacteria

  3. use a light bleach concoction in the tub or sink let it soak at least 10 minuts if the wood is really dirty i would hose down first otherwise it should be fine to put in after being clean.

  4. i wouldn't because there may be bugs in the wood and then they would be all over the cage and your house and could make it sick. i would play it safe and buy some at a pet store.

  5. I myself would not because even if you do wash it out the gecko is still very vinerable to infection and i wouldn't take a chance. Buy something new from a proper reptile shop to be on the safe side..
