Can I Use My Laptop While I'm On A Delta Airline?

Like On The Plane Can I Go On The Internet And Go On Like Msn Or AIM ? And DO They Charge Anything?

Yes. Just like any electronic device, you can use it during cruise flight (e.g. not on the ground or landing/takeoff) but you can't go on the Internet.

1. It may interfere with the airplane's radios.

2. It may be difficult to establish and maintain a quality signal (assuming you're using satellites).

It would be near-impossible to use ground based equipment unless your laptop has some kind of receiver (e.g. a radio dish). Which is unlikely.

However, you can the internet in the terminals or baggage claim of some airports. It may or may not be free. LAX and Dulles have some free internet.

As long as you listen to the flight engineers. You can use it when the seatbelt sign is off, also check if your laptop has an airplane mode like a cell phone does.

There's no airline yet that has Wi-Fi, so you can't go online in flight.

Laptops cause no interference with the airplane. Neither do i-pods, CD players.   Cell phones will not work at an altitude above 5000 feet and you cannot get a signal for long enough to make a call for the most part. They can interfere slightly with the radios, but not as much as the old phones (think early 90's)

So why can't you or I use them all the time?  Because IF something happens, Ipods and the like become missles in the cabin.  And if you're jammin' with your MP3 player, you can't hear the flight attendant telling you which door DOESN'T have the fire outside of it if you need to evacuate quickly.

It's for safety. Airplane flights can be long and boring, but not using your MP3 player or laptop for 10 minutes a flight isn't so bad.

You can use a laptop (after takeoff and before landing), but you cannot currently connect to the internet.
