I reformatted my computer and I want to look back at old emails I read but now that I have outlook express back up I don't see any of my old messages. The mails were all sent to a dedicated server of mine but I don't know where to look.

  1. The e-mails were downloaded from your server to your computer when you accessed them with Outlook Express.  If you didn't save copies of them off of your hard drive, chances are they are gone.  Most e-mail clients like Outlook Express for example, download the e-mails and delete them off of the server to free up space.  These e-mails are then stored on the hard drive of your computer.  You can save them to a disk or back them up.  If you didn't do that, and reformatted your drive, you definately lost the e-mails downloaded to your hard drive.  Unless they weren't deleted off of your server, it is very highly likely you lost your e-mails.  Sorry.
