Question:

Can I act as an agent/middleperson in the sale of my friends property?

He asked me to find a buyer for his property & he would pay me 5%. It's a cfd, $50,000.00 w/$6,000.00 down leaving 44,000.00 for 15 years. I have to do all the paper work. Where do I go to get help with a CFD, Escrow & Title Co? I've never done this before & need to make sure everything is legally documented. Thanks for any advise.

  1. In Florida you would be practicing real estate without a license and could be fined heavily for that act. If you want to do this get a real estate license and list his property but more than likely he wants a cheap arrangement and have you do all the work for him and take all the legal risk.

Why would he or you want to do something for which you have no qualifications? Selling a house is not a simple transaction -- it is not a garage sale.

  2. The escrow company where the buyer will deposit her money  will gladly help you do everything.   If you are a "natural" will you consider doing this full-time?   You would be expected to get a realty license.  Actually you are supposed to get the license even to help your friend but he doesn't seem to care and i don't think anyone is going to "report" you.

Would you advertise on Craigslist?  www.zillow.com   www.roost.com?
