Question:

Can I add an SD card slot or something to my mom's Sony Handycam?

It's a DCR-TRV19, which means it's a few years old. It doesn't have any place for a memory stick or SD card so I was wondering if I could get something that would connect to the camera and serve as Digital memory. It takes too long when I connect the camera to the computer and get the video off that way.

Thanks!

  1. No, You Can Not

but you can connect a hard drive system such as the Sony HDR60 or the Firestore FS4.  Both systems sell for around $1,500.

The Firestore systems have more customization options than the Sony model; however, Sony's system connects to any Sony camcorder without any special settings or requirements.

We recommend the Sony HDR60 for ease of use and guaranteed compatibility, but read up on the Firestore's too.   They might fit your situation a little better.
