I have two receivers going from DISH. I have bough two of my own and they tell me I can add unlimited receivers if they are owned. Is it as simple as running the cable to the dish? Should I not mess with it? They want to charge around 200 bux to install. My hous is brand new and is prewired. Thansk

  1. It depends on how many lines you have running from your dish to your gear.

If you have a newish dish with 2 or 3 lnbs on it (an LNB is the little round thing on the end of an arm that's facing the dish), there should be four lines coming down from the dish into your house. So yes, any of these four lines should work just plugging 'em straight into a box.

If your dish only has 1 lnb, then it probably only has two lines coming down from the dish into your house. In this case you'll need a multiswitch which will take your two lines and turn 'em into four or eight or whatever.

The same applies if you have four lines coming down into the house with a multiswitch. You could then turn 'em into eight or sixteen lines or whatever.
