Can I add power steering to my boat?

I have a 1989 Corsica Sunbird with just a steering cable. I know nothing about boat repair and was wandering if it was possible to install a power steering system to this boat...It has an OMC Cobra 2.3 Inboard/outboard motor....HELP!!!

Cable steering can be converted to the boat equivalent of power steering - hydraulic - but it will cost you a couple of hundred dollars for the bits.

If your current steering is too heavy, you can lighten it a bit by converting to push-pull rod style of system for a lot less money.

Either way, if you know nothing about boat repair, you would be best advised to talk to a reputable local marine shop - it is not something to undertake without at least a basic background to the systems.
