In about a year I'm thinking about getting a 29 gallon cichlid tank and I want to add a red terror, a pink convict and a cobolt blue zebra. Do you think they will get along and should they be males or females or should it be one male and two females any help would be nice

  1. The answer is simply NO

you definitely can't keep more then 1 species in a 29 gallon tank, simply because the footprint is just not given for them to establish territory

no red terror can be kept in a tank that small

    you can do EITHER

    1 male 3 female convicts

    or

    1 male 3 female cobalt blue's

however there are other cichlids you can have like

    1 pair of kribensis

    OR

    1 pair of blue rams

those you can even keep with other schooling fish

  2. No.  They will fight, but the zebra is probably the most aggressive of the 3.  It's an African cichlid and should only be kept with other Africans.   With only 3 in the tank, 2 will end up dead.  In a 29 gallon tank, I wouldn't keep fewer than 6 Africans.

The other 2 should be kept as a single fish, are part of a pair.  Be aware that generally the parrot and convict will mate for life.

  3. ciclids are mean.they need a lot of room.20 gallons is what i use too keep my one oscer.they like other speics or others of there owen.pick one and keep it.i like oscers.when i feed him he jumps clere out of the water and bites at my hand.its cool.but as well, you sould read up!
