Can I add tofu cubes to my maruchan ramen noodle soup?

do I just boil it with the soup or do I fry it first? And if I fry it do I use butter?

First things first, I hope you know that those ramen soups are *not* vegetarian or vegan. Secondly, if you want to add tofu my guess is you are concerned about nutrition. Those ramen are *terrible* for you. There is more sodium in half a package than you should have in a week! If you are intent on eating them then you can throw the tofu right in. I wouldn't suggest ever preparing tofu in butter. The idea of being a vegetarian is to be healthy. If you must saute use fats that are at least good for you like peanut oil or olive oil. If you are having issues figuring out vegetarian meals that are also healthy the internet is your friend! Also, there are quite a few great cookbooks out there. Good luck.

Tofu and ramen don't really mix well. Add some veggies like cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, string beans or anything else you have.

tofu is already cooked so there is no need to cook it any further.. you can just plop it into the soup and it will be fine

Sure you can.  

It would be fine either boiled or fried, but I wouldn't use butter to fry it.  Use sesame oil, vegetable oil or olive oil.  Personally, I think it would go better texture-wise if you just boiled it.  If you want to get really complicated (kind of defeats the purpose of ramen, I know) you could marinade the tofu ahead of time for extra flavor and then boil it with the ramen.

FYI: Maruchan ramen isn't vegetarian-friendly, in case that's a concern of yours.  I'm pretty sure even the vegetable ramen has chicken or beef broth in it.  And as others pointed out, if you're concerned about the health benifits, ramen definitely isn't the best choice.  So tasty, but so bad for you. :-/
