  1. why not just any child who needs a loving mom?

  2. Australia has put a lot of effort into laws protecting children, especially Aboriginal children, in situations of adoption. I can say with almost 100% certainty that if you and your fiance are U.S. citizens, you will not be allowed to adopt internationally in Australia, especially not an Aboriginal child.

  3. I've never known an Aboriginal who would willing give up their child. They are a very close community, and they all look after each other. There is a big issue at the moment where the government is trying to intervene and make sure the children are safe. I don't know how you would go about it.

  4. Contact a good adoption attorney.

  5. It doesn't matter how much money you have, adoption in Australia is d@mn near impossible these days.  Even movie stars can't adopt kids...it takes ages, much longer than it does in the States or in foreign countries.  They are quite strict and try to keep the child within the community of the family.

  6. WAY TO GO AUSTRALIA!! Its about time for the United States to step up to the plate and follow Australias lead!

  7. There are almost NO domestic adoptions within Australia now - Aboriginal or Non Aboriginal.

More often than not - care of children is kept within the same family group.

For the best interests of the child - keeping them in the same family is important. (if at all possible) For ALL children.

If you don't live here - I doubt you have any chance.
