I cannot help you too much but all I know is that california in general is VERY expensive. I would look at housing food costs and every cost imnaginable and see what you can afford. Best of luck.

yes you just have to choose whether to rent or buy.  If you have good enough credit and a down payment you could probably afford something near 400k and less.
