  1. You will be fine.  The worksheet on the 2008 tax return uses the 2008 tax information.

If the two of you are entitled to more money (the money received on the 2007 return for you is subtracted), the worksheet will indicate this and it will become a refundable credit on the tax form.

  2. Amend 2007, no, that won'd get the stimulus payment.

If your 2008 return that you file in early 2009 shows you are eligible, but you didn't get it this year, yes you'll get it then.

  3. There is no guarantee that there will be a 2008 stimulus program.

If you mean 2007, where you married on 12/31/207? If so, you can amend your 2007 return. I'm not convinced you will get extra stimulus if you do.

  4. You would be able to amend your 2007 tax return to include your spouse and there for take a credit in tax year 2008 for the stimulus you did not receive for tax year 2007.  All of that could be done in the year 2009 as you are preparing your tax year 2008 returns.

  5. To get the stimulus package, she had to pay taxes in 2007, so the IRS may want to know where she worked in 2007 and under what SS# she paid taxes and SS/Medicare.  whatever you're thinking of doing, ya better watch out.
