Question:

Can I apply for a Schengen visa for entry to Spain at another Schengen country's embassy?

Basically I need to travel to Spain at the end of March, but the Spanish embassy won't give me an appointment until the end of April. Can I therefore get a Schengen visa from, say, the German embassy and use that to enter Spain? Or does it have to be issued by the Spanish embassy?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

  1. Then tell them you have to travel at the end of Feb,simple

  2. I'm guessing that you're not a British Citizen, as you wouldn't need a Visa.

The application has to be made to the Embassy where you plan to stay for the majority of your visit. Have a look at this website, it has the basic info you need:

    http://www.schengenvisa.cc/

  3. Technically, you should ask a visa at the consulate of the  Schengen country of first entry. For instance, if you go to Spain by train, the French consulate is your best target.

If you go by plane, you can always argue with the customs that you changed your plans and took the plane. :-)

I believe that the French embassy in London is quicker than the Spanish one.

  4. Sounds like a good idea, to get the German Visa, if it will be April before you get an appointment from Spanish Embassy.

Long time to wait for an appointment.

What Country are you Applying From ??

  5. What country are you a citizen of?
