Question:

Can I ask for my gratuity charge to be taken off my limo bill?

I ordered a limo for my wedding but the limo guy was late, rude, and is trying to charge me an additional amount for staying for an additional 15 minutes, which isn't true. But I notice on my bill, he gave him self a gratuity fee, can I call my credit car company and ask that I not be charged for that? Or is the gratuity charge permanent?

  1. If the guy isn't the owner of the limo company, I would take up the matter with his boss and see if they will reverse the charges for you. If the guy is in business for himself, you could call your credit card company and explain the situation and that you never authorized any tip. So basically it would be fraud on his part for charging you more than the agreed amount (unless otherwise stipulated on any service agreement). Additionally, you could contact the better business bureau who may not do much but put the complaint in his file (provided he is a member). Hope this helps.
