Can I ask for refund of this defect GPS?

I bought a JVC GPS KV-PX9 more than 1 year ago. I only used that GPS 3 or 4 times when I traveled to other cities. The JVC GPS is very very slow. It takes forever to capture the signal, takes 5 minutes to just input the name of destination, and takes another 5 minutes to calculate or recalculate the route. Overall, it's not a functional GPS. I bought a new Garmin nuvi GPS. The Garmin GPS works so quickly. Comparing to Garmin, JVC GPS is just a piece of junk. Can I request refund of my money?

  1. 1 year? I don't think so.

Either make an attempt to salvage $50 off of it by putting it up on eBay or get rid of it.

  2. After a year?  The only places I have heard of giving refunds after more than a year are REI and Costco.  I agree that eBaying the JVC is the best thing to do.  People pay ridiculously high amounts of money for used units on eBay, so you might actually make some decent money off a sucker.
