For example I want to have a subscription canceled from a certain merchant can I ask my bank to do that for me?

I'm pretty busy and I called my bank up to cancel on of my subscriptions and I got a letter here from them a few days later saying that they made a cacellation order to the merchant, but I got a call from the merchant saying I miss my payment then I informed them that I told my bank to cancel my subscription and they told me I couldnt do that and it had to be me who had to cancel.

  1. Probably the bank just put a stop payment to that merchant, not a true "cancellation." You have to do that yourself.

  2. They are right, you have to do it yourself. Like someone else said, that's not the bank's job. If you're that busy you should hire an assistant to handle your personal affairs. Check the agreement you signed with each merchant to find out how to cancel (or look on their website if they have one). There may be penalties for canceling early. Maybe you could just draft one form letter for each merchant and change the pertinent information and then get it all done at once. Keep copies of everything and send return receipt requested if it involves a great deal of money so they can't come after you claiming you didn't cancel. Bottom line, you took out the subscription, you have to cancel it.

  3. You can ask your bank to stop making automatic payments on your behalf, but that doesn't mean you can stop paying whoever it is you owe the money to.

It's not the bank's job to cancel your subscriptions for you. The bank's job is to hold your money and to give it to whoever you tell them to give it to. Period. If you have promised someone you'd pay them money for goods or services, telling your bank not to pay them doesn't negate your obligation to pay.

  4. When  you  cancel  your  subscription ,

You   also  need  to  notify  the  merchant  so  they  do  Not  continue  to  send  merchandise .

If    you   only  tell  the  bank  and  fail  to  tell  the  merchant  who  continues  to  send  whatever ,

Then  you   need  to   pay  for  whatever  you  were  getting .

Notify  them   BOTH  in  writing  that  you  are  canceling .

Being  a  cry baby  about  busy  is  NOT  a  legit    excuse  for  Bad  business  conduct .

  5. You need to send a formal letter of cancellation, and then contact your bank for the fees you incure from them not cancelling the subscription.  You will have to pay for the delinquent amount.

  6. banks can cancel individual payments, but you have to cancel a subscription yourself.

  7. No......do it yourself..........its your account.......now you have to pay...........that's what you get for not handling your own business..........lesson learned??????????
