I am visting Boston tomorrow and I was wondering if it is easier/cheaper to avoid the mass pike? I have to travel from cambridge to the boston convention center daily which means I have to keep paying that toll right? What should I do?

  1. It depends where in Cambridge you are.  If near Harvard take Storrow Drive to 93 South. Get off at South Station exit.  Turn left onto Summer Street.  Summer Street to Convention Center.

If you are in central, or northern or Cambridge drive Broadway to Kendall Square over bridge to Boston.  Continue straight to Government Center.  Turn left one block to Congress Street.  Turn right.  Continue on Congress Street to just before bridge over canal.  Right one block then left onto Summer Street, to Convention Center.

If you are in east Cambridge:  McGrath highway past Science Museum to 93 South; continue as per first paragraph above.

Actually, it would be easier (and cheaper) if you just took public transit.

There is a Silver Line station just 2 short blocks from the Convention Center.

  2. Well i have never taken that road or any road in MA, but you could go to mapquest.com, and punch in the instructions for your usual route, and check the option that says to avoid tolls. however it may take more money in gasoline trying to avoid those tolls. or you could get those passes, i think they're cheaper?

  3. pick up I-93 south near the science museum and get off the south station exit take a left and go straight the convention ctr will be on your right
