  1. You sure can

It doesn't matter what degree you have, and in many firms you don't need a degree

You have to be good with people, speak well, and be good at sales.   It would help if you have basic knowledge of econcomics and finance, some accounting would help.

Just a point from experience, after over 40 years in this industry, I never met a good sales rep that was good in math.

Don't worry about anything, just sell yourself and you'll do well, especially if you want to get into institutional sales.

  2. Yes, like selling real estate, a high school diploma is not required.  However, you would need to be very good at selling.

Also, unless you have some incredible intuition that's almost always right, you would never be able to advance to say, being a fund manager.

It's a tough business, tougher still because of all the recent downsizing and consolidation in the finance industry, but then again, what isn't nowadays?  Best of luck to you!

  3. watch Wall Street, Pursuit of Happiness, Boiler Room, and Wolves of Wall Street.

yeah you'll cold call and learn the business essentially, but find out if you're being tested based on cold calls and stuff.

  4. Yes , all you need is basic math skills............and I think the ability to do it in your head would be nice...........just the basics ....percents..............hope you know what I mean....You've got all the rest of the tools..........lying would be the best one to develop:)..........all the best young man....there isn't that much to it........nite
