College as in the 2 years after high school and before university in England.

Well, I want to be a journalist and also a writer some day; I'm going into college in Sept and as we have 4 options to choose from I chose English Language, French, Psychology and Theatre Studies. I know I definitely need English language to be a journalist and I enjoy language a lot more, but will not taking literature and only taking language affect my ability and the possibility of being a writer in the future?

  1. Furthing your educaion would certainly help. But there is none required. Just keep practicing and reading and writing. As long as your grammar and sentence structure doesn't suck, you should be alright.

  2. You can be a writer with abosolutely no college education. It happens when you're incredibly gifted, charming and start out as a freelance writer. Basically, just like anyone else. Writing is not necessarily based on education.

  3. A literature class depends a lot of your teacher's talent to teach you,to speak, to open your eyes about other's works. Otherwise you can read by yourself.
