Im 26 living in the uk. about 3 yrs ago i had a big car accident and broke my femur bone it released a bubble of air in to my bloodstream which ended up in my brain (a brain embolism)) and was in a coma like state for a couple days. Im now fine ( have a titanium rod in my leg) my question is will this affect me becoming an amateur boxer and fighting in amateur bouts?

  1. No as long as you are fine now. You shouldn't have any problems getting a license, or insurance to fight. As long as you pass the boxing medicals you can fight

  2. if the embolism has been cleared up then yes. But you are kinda old to box. Go for it but don't break your hip old man.

  3. BIG YES  find anything else you like that does not do with gettinng hit in the head!

  4. idk

  5. i dont know

    ask muhummad ali

    or evander holyfield

  6. as long as you pass the medical evaluation you shouldn't have any problems, but why would you you want to begin boxing as an amateur at 26?you are waaaay to old if you haven't practiced boxing before. You could just train, have a few sparrings but competing in sanctioned bouts..........i don't know about that

  7. Ask your Doctor~~~

  8. don't listen to Darius white...i started ameature at age 25 and now I'm 12-0...when i came to the gym at age 24 i was 235 pounds ....every one told me I was too old and too fat...i ignored the trainers and left the gym...i got on a serious diet to prove them all wrong...9 months later i went back to the gym weighing 149 lbs and none of the trainers recognized me...because i looked healthier and younger(when u loose as much weight as i did u look healthier and younger) they gave me a shot...ever since then Ive been training hard an sparring with pros...email me at calstate29@yahoo.com and ill show u pics to let u know I'm telling the truth and at age 26 is not too late to start.....as for your medical condition I recommend checking with a doctor first...(remember people who say your to old to box at age 26 really don't have any heart or balls to try...but i tried even though they said i couldn't do it...now everyone at the gym is excited to see what I'm going to do in my pro career and I'm 25! good luck....OH and here's a good thing to remember...people who have been training since age 5 or 16 have alot of wear and tear on their bodies...all those punches to the head and body slowly break u down....so your a fresh 26 ......so in boxing years your young because u haven't had previous years of poundings to your body!

  9. it shouldnt affect you no the embolism has been removed and there shouldnt be any long term affects.. getting hit in the head alot.. shouldnt b any worse 4 u then 4 another boxer
