Question:

Can I be drinking too much water?

I have figured out I drink about 8-11 liters of water a day. I'm pretty average size 6'0 200lbs, but I don't know if size even factors in. I don't go anywhere without a bottle of water. Is this a problem, or is it the more water the better?

  1. no, there is never too much water. Drinking a lot is actually good for you. It flushes you out. If you don't believe me, go on and see a doctor. i got in trouble for not drinking enough water. i drink less than 3 glasses a day. you'll know that you drink enough or a fair amount if your urine is a very light yellow, or clear. If it is a dark yellow, you need to drink more.

  2. You can never have too much water! But you might wanna tone it down just a bit.

  3. Provided that you aren't drinking that 8 - 11 L of water within an hour, you will be fine.  Water is great as a body cleanser

  4. Size does not have anything to do with it. However, weight, activity levels and environment do. For proper hydration and health we need 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight plus 8 more ounces for every 20 minutes of exercise. With hot/dry days and climates even more is needed. On a regular day with no activity you will need 100 ounces which is more than you are currently drinking.

We can get water from foods and other drinks. But caffeine and alcohol actually dehydrate us and do not count towards water intake. In fact since they dehydrate us we must consume even more water to compensate.

More water than outlined will won't neccesarily be needed but it will still make it easier to clean out your system of toxing and to curb your appitite. If that is something you are trying to do.

  5. Water is good, but too much can drown your liver. It can also be a sign of diabetes. After you drink a good amout of water, you get dehydrated really fast. All the water you drink passes through your kidneys and flushes the sugar away, and that causes constant urination.

If you're constantly urinating, then you might want to talk to your Doctor, and have a check up.

But if your not, then theres no problem at all, you just like water :)

  6. No, water is good. It cleanses your body and clears up your skin. I'm the exact same way, It's better that bringing some sugary drink with you everywhere right?

  7. It's great, to take that much of water.  I don't think it will harm you...

  8. If you space out your water consumption, I think it's ok.  but don't chug it all, because i read a story and heard it on the news about this lady that entered this contest on a radio station to see how many gallons of water she could drink before she had to go pee, and she got water intoxication and died.  you can google the story if it sounds like bs because if i hadn't read it myself i would call bull sh*t.

  9. That is far to much. Too much can kill you or even poison you.

2 to 3 litres is more than enough. Leave you water at home and get a life doing other things

  10. With more than 3 liters of water a day you are actually leaching minerals out of your body, possibly leaving you undernourished. You are also 25 lbs overweight, and much of it is probably water. For optimum health, you need exercise and a balanced diet.
