Question:

Can I be forced to take a job offer that I accepted, then decided not to take because of a better opportunity?

I recently accepted a position for a job. I was asked to come in for an interview by a partner company. I went on the interview just to see what they had to offer and not to really get the job, but the employer was impressed with me and decided to offer me the job. After I thought about the pros and cons of the new job versus the position I already accepted, I figured it would be beneficial for me to take the new job I was offered because it is closer to my house, better hours, and better pay. I informed my new employer of what I had did and he told me that I may have to take the other job because they aren't supposed to "take" employees from related companies. What can I and should I do?

  1. unless you signed a contract that binds you to the 1st employer you have the right to take the other job offer it may not seem right but you gota do whats best for you cuz no one else will do it for you

  2. tradingsolution.org to sites on the

    Internet for forex!

    Browse our resources or just

    try the search

  3. It depends on what you've done. If you've signed paperwork, and if you've done a drug test or background check, you may be held to them for a certain period of time.

However, quite a few contracts are "at will" contracts, which means that even if you have signed anything, you or the employer can end the agreement at any time. Check the contract, see what you signed, and decide from there.

    Best of luck!
