Can I be scammed or robbed with my acct # and routing #?

Question

I sold a high dollar item on ebay, and the buyer wanted to pay by wire transfer. We spoke on the phone, and I gave him my routing # and account # for my bank.

Now im a little nervous... Can I be scammed/robbed or whatever?

Yes. You can.  They can do an ACH debit out of your account with your account information. OR...they can create fake check with your account information.  I would highly suggest you call your bank and put a restriction on all debit (withdrawal) from your account.  *(I'm a banker working at a bank right now (4:30PM Pacific Coast Time) so your source is reliable)
