  1. Unfortunately not.

You must have very good pass rates in both of those subjects before an airline will even consider you.

Airline companies set these qualification requirements for a reason, to make our air a safer place to fly. And also to keep the riff-raff out.

  2. you need to be able to fly planes and pass a federal test.that is it. no one is required to hire you unless you are a minority. So look in your wood pile.

  3. I think No! , as this is a mandatory requirement for DGCA (I am talking about India) to be eligible to clear the aviation exams (like SPL, PPL, CPL, ATPL, as a pilot requires an understanding of trignometry and the laws of physics)

  4. sure....all you need is a g.e.d.

  5. You can not get away from math if you want to become a career pilot. If you think this is beyond your ability, may I suggest Microsoft flight simulator. You can fly anywhere in the world with out taking any exams.

  6. No capt may you do not need good math or physics grades to become an airline pilot. Basic math and an ability to understand some basic physics is all you need. All I needed anyway.

  7. no

  8. Depends how competitive you wish to be with your peers. I am not having a shot at you by any means, what I am saying is you want to be top of the pile.

Put yourself into the position of the person hiring for the airlines - who would you select out of two final candidates, one with more quals and someone who has proof they can study and absorb information or someone who just has the bare minimums?

If you have the opportunity to study now all I can say is do it, I regret not going further in my younger days. I am going back to school now but trust me it is so much harder once you are already in the work force.

Hope I have helped in some way.

    Cheers

  9. Absolutely. Airlines look for a number of factors; do you speak a second language, do you have a bachelor's degree, do you have jet-engined experience, do you have human factors training; the biggest factor today is flight time. A pilot with 5,000 hours flying time will more likely be hired than a pilot with only 2,000 hours. The catch, is that the person with 2,000 hours may have graduated from an integrated diploma/degree-flight program which required high grades to enter, and in that case the 2,000 hour pilot looks more favourable. Not taking math or physics at the A level will not bar you from flying with an airline, but may make it more difficult.

  10. I'm afraid u are required to have those A Levels

  11. You need a fair degree or this knowledge if you're a pilot or engineer. I'm training to become an engineer and we have to take an exam on both subjects as well as plenty of others.

You will need a fair knowledge on stuff such as

    Scalar + vector quantities

    Square roots.

    Concurrent and coplanar forces

    Basic mathematics ( + - etc)

    Kelvin scale

    Fractions

    Estimation

    Gyroscopic effects

    Linear equations

    and a fair bit more.

To get to the point both are subjects you can't escape in the aviation industry.

  12. I sure hope so, I never took them other than normal HS Math.
