  1. just has to be corrected

  2. Yes, you can still become a pilot if your vision (or lack thereof) requires you to wear corrective lenses, e.g. "glasses". The classification of being a pilot is awarded after you complete requirements/meet eligibility standards according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The following information details how to become a pilot. This is directly from the FAA's webpage www.faa.gov/pilots/become.

Q:What is the first step to becoming a pilot?

A:Decide what you want to fly. FAA’s rules for getting a pilot’s license (certificate) differ depending on the type of aircraft you fly. You can choose among airplanes, gyroplanes, helicopters, gliders, balloons, or airships. If you are interested in flying ultralight vehicles, you don’t need a pilot’s license.

You should also think about what type of flying you want to do. There are several different types of pilot’s licenses, from student pilot all the way up to airline transport pilot. The information below describes the eligibility, training, experience, and testing requirements for Student Pilots, Recreational Pilots and Private Pilots.

  3. Yes if you have no serious eye problems . I would check with an FAA / JAA medical examiner before you spend any money on flight school. good luck.

  4. Yes you can.

I agree with the previous poster, do not get lasiks, wear the glasses.

  5. yes you can be a pilot if u wear glasses

  6. You have to have a spare pair of corrective lenses - contacts or glasses.

  7. Yes, absolutely. Many pilots have them today; probably many more than you think. Also, if your vision needs correcting DON'T get LASIK so that you wont have to wear them. For some reason this can dabilitate a pilot's vision or hinder their abilities, so wear glasses if needed.

    Cheers!
