  1. No.  An extra is simply that, an extra.  When you see a movie and see people walking down a street, they are extras, in sports movies, the crowds, are extras.  You get no acting ability out of being an extra.  Most of the time you just sit around until they ask for you.  You would be lucky if you ever meet the star or producer of the movie or show.

I would recommend community theater to get your start in acting to see if you like it.

Any agent that thinks you are markertable will find you an acting/photo job and take a percentage of your earnings.  NEVER pay up front to any agency or acting 'recruiter' (like you see in the newspapers).

Acting is a lot of work, and takes a lot of time and practice.

    Good luck!

  2. It's possible but most truly successful actors have studied their craft for a very long time.

  3. Actors aren't born.  You gotta start somewhere.
