Can I book a flight or flights for about 35 people at the same time? Also if you know when can I start booking

I am going on a family vacation to Florida next July and want to book a flight for my family. It's about 35 people going. Can I book for all of them and if so can you give me a site or a number so I can call? I would like to know when can I start to book flights for next year? I want to go on the 13th of July to the 18th of July.

you should be able to negotiate a group rate with whichever airline or airlines....call a couple of them and ask for group dept. (or have your travel agent do it)

NOW is a good time to make the arrangments for a group trip.

You probably cannot book a group of 35 online, and doing so would not save you any money.

One option is to work through a real travel agent.

If you want to do the work yourself, call the airlines directly (talk to a human) and tell them you want to book a group of 35. They will probably refer you to a reservations agent that handles groups. You should be able to get a substantial discount on the price of the tickets for a group that large.  Ask the airline about packages that include airfare and hotel. Get quotes from several airlines before deciding. All of the airlines have toll-free phone numbers.

Note that you will need the names of everyone exactly as they appear on their IDs for the airline tickets.  A name on a ticket that doesn't match the name on the ID can result in being refused a boarding apss.

Do the same thing regarding hotel reservations and you should be able to get a discount on the room rates (compare with the combination airfare plus hotel rates offered by the airlines).  Also ask about other benefits, such as airport pickup by the hotel and having breakfast included at no extra charge.  Large hotels are probably your best option, and the sales manager has the authority to offer you a good deal. Do shop around, and let the sales manager know you are collecting quotes.  All of the hotel chains have toll-free phone numbers, but you need to talk to the sales manager for the individual hotel to negotiate a deal.

Whether you use a travel agent or do it yourself, confirm the arrangments at 6 months before your trip, 1 month, and 1 week - especailly details like airport pickup. Verify the flight times a full day before you travel (flight schedules tend to change over a year) and make sure you have a way to notify everyone if the fight times change.

Finally, strongly consider getting trip insurance in case something happens to cancel the vacation. Trip insurance is cheap and is sold by airlines and travel agents.

The previous answers are basically correct, but left out some details.

The airline will probably require a deposit. They don't generally just block large numbers of seats and hold them for months for free. Start thinking about the logistics of collecting the money. The airline group desk or your travel agent will give you a schedule of when deposits are due, when your name list is due, and cancellation fees. You will probably also be required to sign a contract agreeing to these terms.

Handling a large group can be time consuming, especially if people start asking about deviations to the trip (leaving early, staying longer, stopping somewhere else). If you don't have the time and patience to act as a intermediary between the airline and your group members, then use a travel agent. It saves a lot of time and hassle.

You will have to work with an airline group desk or a travel agent. You can't book 35 seats over the Internet.

Most airlines accept reservations 11 months in advance. Southwest is one of the few exceptions.
