Can I bring a small dog in a pet carrier onto an Amtrak train?

  1. Absolutly not.  Think of Amtrak as a huge restraunt.  Better yet one that travels on rails.  You can not take animals into restraunts.  The only animals allowed are service animals.  Even then the restraunt would like to throw you out because of the animal, but they have a kind heart because the animal is trained to help.  Amtrak has nothing against animals, but you also have to think about how many people are going to be on that train, how long between station stops.  Like one fellow said, Poopy is very bad on a crowed train.  So dont get angry at amtrak because you can not take your doggy with you.  Leave him behind or find another way to go. I think you said the carrier is aproved by the FAA.  I am sure they will be happy to put him in the cargo bay for you.
