I'm traveling in a couple of days. I know some planes has power outlets that I can plug in. With the news rules and all, am I allowed to bring my laptop adapter with my carry-on or do I have to keep it in my luggage?

  1. I use American Airlines which has the "cigarette-lighter" style plugs. I bought a power inverter, and use my laptop charger almost everytime I fly.

Be sure to check with your airline so you know what type of plug they have, and whether the aircraft you'll be flying on has power plugs installed.

The TSA requires that you remove your laptop from your carryon and put it in a bin at the security checkpoint, so be prepared for that.  Below is a link to the TSA page on electronic equipment if you want further information.

    Cheers.
