I'll be studying in Costa Rica for 3 months. I would like to bring Abe Lincoln with me, if I can. If not, I'll just leave him at home. What are the restrictions on guinea pigs?

  1. sealed in a Tupperware box after cooking on gaz mark 5 for 1 hour

  2. you might be able to take the guinea pig with you but you wont be able to bring it back! with out it going into quarenteen for 6 months and you have to pay!

  3. You can bring dogs in cages, but I don't know about guinea pigs.  You should try asking the travel agency for info.

  4. Just stick him in your purse...no one has to know ;)

  5. Costa Rica is a bit too close to guinea pig eating territory. Leave the critter at home.

  6. Check with the American embassy there in Costa Rica!

their e-mail address is on their Web site or just put -"US Embassy, Costa Rica" into your browser and be guided accordingly.

That way you know for certain!

    Viva La Pura Vida!

  7. You can stick them up your butt - serious

  8. I strongly recommend that you leave your guinea pig home. It's best not to make a guinea pig undergo the stress of travel and change in climate. I'm sure a trusted friend or neighbor will take good care of him.

  9. Best to leave Abe home.  But I know you can bring pets in and back out of Costa Rica if >>>>  your vet in the USA gives you a paper certifing the health of your pet.  Then you need to ask the airlines about pet travel restrictions.  They will require a FAA approved cage, and probably a ticket and carry Abe as luggage.  I bet he'd be happier at home.
