Can I bring small bottles of liquid in my makeup bag on board?

So I'm bringing a 0.17oz lip gloss, 1 fl oz sanitizer, 3 fl oz hairspray on board. Can I do that? I heard you're only allowed to bring a total of 3 oz things.

You can bring as many 3 oz or smaller containers as will fit in a 1 quart ziploc bag.

Its a limit of 50ml per item ... no limit on the number of items, though, as far as I know.

Best thing to do ... call the airline and check before you leave home!

The first answer is correct, and it helps if it's the 1-quart ziploc bag with the little plastic zipper on it, it's easier and quicker for the workers to open.  You can go to your airline's website to check more detailed rules, that way you know exactly what to expect.

You can bring as many 3 fl. oz. containers as will fit in the 1 quart ziploc bag.  That is about 8 containers.  Of course, you can pack whatever size containers you want in your checked luggage.  The restrictions are for your carry on bags.
