Can I buy a 160GB iPod classic in Vancouver airport (YVR) duty free?

Would it be cheaper to exchange my Canadian dollars to pounds at the post office (bearing in mind that they give a poor exchange rate from foreign money to sterling) back in England and buy it on Amazon?

Don't know of an eletrical store @ Vancouver Airport.  Virgin have a store there.  I would think you would be able to pick one up over there in an electrical store in Vancouver then claim your tax back @ the airport. Just check the price with Amazon before you go then do the math when you are there.
