Can I buy a Panasonic PT-AE2000U from America and run it here in australia safely without it blowing up?

Is it possible to use this product with australian power cords and wall sockets without it experiencing any problems?

Or blowing up..

  1. According to the specifications it has a universal power supply (110-220v 50/60 Hz) and supports PAL, SECAM and NTSC video, so I don't see any reason it won't work (although you would have to change the plug)

    You will probably have to consider that the warranty doesn't apply in Australia (although I'd verify that with Panasonic or by carefully reading the warranty).

    You may be able to find a seller (AVS -- see 2nd link -- come to mind) who would honour the warranty if you shipped it back to the US (although that might be a bit expensive). That said, they sell extended warranties in the US that might be a good deal even with shipping costs.
