  1. If you need to ask this then you should not get one.

No 18 year old needs a handgun. Maturity is not there when a guy is 18, Military or Civilian.

Unless its hunting with rifles, now thats another story

  2. CAn you buy a gun? Maybe. Can you keep with you in the barracks? Only if you would like to see the inside of the stockade and get at least an Article 15, demoted and loss of pay.

  3. In most cases, civilian firearm laws will apply to military personnel as well with the exception of those who are members of the military police. So unless there are other exceptions, the law will likely apply to the member of the military as well. The MPs will fall under the rules like other law enforcement personnel. In California for example (given you're not part of law enforcement/MP), you'll have to be 21 yrs old to buy a hand gun but if you're already 21, you won't have to take the hand gun safety course if you're currently in the military (drilling reserves or active duty.) But you will have to pay fees, demonstrate that you can load/unload the wpn safely and go through a waiting period like everyone else.

*Edit if you live in the barracks and have a firearm of any type, you will have to store it in your units armory.

  4. depends on the state you are in, military men still have to abide by the laws. if your statined in NY, not a chance but if your in SC go right ahead.

  5. It depends on which state you live in. Most states that allow you to purchase a handgun makes little difference on whether your a civilian or military. In the states that allow you to purchase a handgun, it must be purchased by your parents. To answer your question, it depends on state law, and being in the military makes no difference.

  6. as long as thats the age in your state.

it doesnt matter if your in the military as long as your old enough and licenced.

  7. Yes, but you shouldn't if you don't live in a particuarly dangerous area.

  8. yes you can. if you serve in the military you don't even need a gun license.

  9. nope
