I will be spending my summer (3 months) in Cambodia(teaching english/ hangin out), and if I'm allowed to around Asia.

I was wondering while in Cambodia can I buy plane tickets to different countries?

I would like to go to Singapore, Saigon, Tokyo, India, and a few other places along the way, and since I'm there it'll be a lot cheaper for me.

I read somewhere that after 9/11 you can't randomly buy one way tickets anywhere.

It's just figure that if I'm gonna be in the area for that long it would be nice to go to different countries.

  1. Sure, you can randomly buy one way tickets anywhere.  The problem is entering a country on a one-way ticket if you are not a citizen of that country, or have a valid visa for work or study.  Generally speaking, if you're entering for tourist purposes, you must have proof of onward travel when you arrive.  This does not have to be a plane ticket; it could be bus, ferry, or train receipt for travel out before the allowed number of tourist days.  Some countries give 30 days, some 90 days, it varies.  Developing countries quite often require you purchase a tourist visa; it's a good revenue source for them.  You can find entry requirements based on your nationality (passport country) here: http://www.delta.com/planning_reservatio...

  2. yeah you can. you just might not be able to get the days you want.

but yeah you should be able to :]

    good luck xx

  3. You can do this, but you should make sure to buy a round trip ticket back to Cambodia.  Talk with a travel agent or with the local airlines.

  4. Yes, you can buy several one ways, I did it while in Europe. You can try airlines similair to Ryanair and EasyJet.  I'm not sure if those two service the South Pacific, but I'm sure you can find similair carriers who do.

  5. You can, and the internet is probably one of the cheaper ways. Certainly found some wicked deals planning my own travels. But if you have any doubts, a travel agent is a good first port of call.
