  2. Goose feathers'd be cheaper!

    I believe that only certain ones were used, though whether this was because of the curl of particular feathers I'm not sure. I picked up a book in the library and happened to see that they recommended a fore feather from the left wing. Maybe if you're left-handed you need one from the right wing.

    Of course you'll also need a "pen-knife".

  4. It's a h**l of a lot cheaper to go to a goose farm and get your own quill feathers. The art of cutting your quill is another matter, so get a whole bunch of quills to practice on as well.

    Surf the net for instructions on the proper cutting methods.
