Can I buy a train ticket from the machine at Waterloo which takes my zone 3 travelcard into account?

im guessing you can either go the counter or buy a ticket which has the destination of the 1st zone 3 station and then change to the travelcard. The former is better.

buy a ticket from the first station outside zone 3 to your destination online at somewhere like http://www.trainline.co.uk and then pick it up at the waterloo ticket machine
