Can I buy an AT&T go phone at walmart and put my AT&T smart chip in it, and it work?

im aweful with cell phone..drop them, throw them, drowned them, ect..and i herd that i could by one of those go phones they sell at like walmart and put my smart chip/sim card in it and it should work. i dont want to pay 200 bucks for a phone, because its not time to upgrade my contract..any suggestions?

Yeah that works and I would get insurance next time.  Just switch out the sim cards with your old one.
