I am starting up a handmade purse business and am wanting to print up business cards, ect. I'd like to use the name LynnDavid Handbag Co., but I'm not sure that it's okay to do that when this is just a side job/hobby, and I've not taken any legal or formal steps to become a business. My backup name is LynnDavid Handbag Design. Which should I use?

  1. You can use the name if you have filed a ficticious business name statement with the county you do business in. Anytime you use a name that is not your actual name, you must file this statement.

That is all, then you can use the name.
