Question:

Can I cancel AT&T and keep my Blackberry?

I just bought a Blackberry Curve from the AT&T store with a 2 year contract, but they said I can return it within 30 days if I don't like it. Now, can I keep my phone and number and transfer to another service, because I am pissed at the fact that I have to pay for a special application or jump through hoops just to get all my messengers running (Yahoo, GTalk, AIM, MSN) all at the same time. And what do I get instead? A bill that's almost double what my friends are paying for less features and call time than them.

Can I cancel the contract (been like 3 days) and keep my phone and take it to another provider or would it be wiser to just take it all back and buy the phone again at the other provider?

  1. Yea you can. Youll just have to get it unlocked but the only other company using sim cards is T-mobile

  2. You cant just keep the phone and go to someone else. You can keep the phone, cancel the contract(pay 200 dollars and keep the phone. Then you will just have to sign with someone else and hook ir up there. You can always take your old number anywhere and under any circumstance( law passed a few years ago). Smartest thing would be to return the phone and cancel the contract(that would fall under the 30 day grace period). Get the phone through someone else.

  3. yeah, but it wont work as well
