Can I cancel an incoming fax sent to my phone line?

It drives me crazy when people sending faxes send them to my phone line. The fax will make multiple attempts to deliver the fax so each time I answer I get a loud beep in my ear. Is there any solution to stop it on the first attempt?

Such as a code or number sequence?

I have an easy solution for you. When you receive a fax call transfer the call to a fax machine. Usually the fax will have a cover letter that you can call the sender back on and tell them to cancel the fax mistakenly sent to you. Good luck.

but you should be able to block that number

tell your phone company about the problem

they should be able to help you free of charge
