Do I have to have insurance on my motorcycle (in IL) during the winter when I don't even ride it? Can't I just cancel it for the Winter and then start it up again in the Spring?

  1. learn to understand some principle conception before accept any suggestion is a great idea. Here is great place to start.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  2. You don't want to cancel and restart insurance like that - they keep track of that and will give you a bad rating if you cancel a bunch of times.  Check with a bunch of insurance companies.  Some of them offer discounted motorcycle insurance that only covers the bike during the summer months.  Then, during the winter months, your bike only has limited coverage, which doesn't include riding.

BTW, if the bike is financed you have to have full coverage insurance on it at all times - even the winter.

  3. You can, but I would not. You never know what can happen over the winter.

  4. No, what if something catastrophe would happen during the winter, then the motorcycle would not be covered. OR could move to Florida where insurance is not required to ride. I ride a harley and insurance is not required to obtain a plate or ride here. But you must wear a helmet if not have required $10,000 medical insurance. I ride with this insurance in place year round, so can ride without my helmet. BUT I not leave it home, the helmet is always with me on my bike, in case of wet weather.

  5. Be sure to recheck their rules. And talk it with your agent for this topic.
