I know you can have the USPS "hold" your mail up to 30 days. I know you can "forward" your mail to another address. But what if I just don't want to receive mail anymore, altogether? Talking about snail mail from USPS that is sent to your residential address. Not interested in a P.O. Box, either. I'm leaving the country and don't want my parent's stuck with my mail.

  1. Only way to do that is to contact every company and person that you have mail contact with and tell them to stop sending mail to you.

You, as the addressee, are a patron of the US Postal Service. The person that is paying postage is the Customer and by using postage, pays the bills. They are paying us to deliver that mail to that address.

You can not direct USPS to not deliver mail that is properly addressed to you at that address except by filing a Change Of Address Order. However, COAs are not valid for International forwarding.
