Can I capture my screen output from my Dell laptop to my Sony S-video in directly? I want to record classes.?

I'm trying to record from my Dell S-Video out to my Sony FX-1 S-Video in. The Dell has 1400 x 1050 pixels. I rather do this than use software like Camtasia for taping live classes, although I like Camtasia for many things. Thanks.

the out from the Dell s-video connector is always analog, (480x640), no matter what the monitor screen resolution is set to. When recording from the s-video connector, the FX-1 will always be in SD or miniDV mode.
