Question:

Can I carry a knife in Korea?

I have a small 3 in pocket knife I carry with me. No violence intended, they're just handy to have. (opening packages, cutting threads, etc.) When I traveled to England, it got confiscated. I don't want to break any laws, but I don't want to lose my knife either. Does anyone know if I can carry a knife legally in Korea?

  1. Ummm what the h**l are you planning to do with those knives???? I say no, don't because they will get confiscated at the airport. But if you buy some more outside... I mean, who would know you have pocketknives, but... that's slightly weird..? I say it could be legal but no one would know.

  2. Yes, you can.  Lots of people carry knives in Korea.  The only place that you may have problems is at the airport.

  3. Depends on the size of the blade. I wouldn't myself.

  4. yes but if you go around looking trouble, the korean jails are the least of your problems.
