Where my sister lives they don't sell linguica (sausage). She asked if I could bring some with me. Also, where my sister lives the cigarettes are cheaper so I'd like to bring home a couple of cartons. Is that allowed in my carry on bag?

  1. No problem on the sausage.  They generally restrict you to one carton of cigs.  thats 200 cigs and after that they charge duty.

  2. It depends on whether you are traveling internationally.  If you are leaving one country and entering another, you might not be able to take the sausage.  The same applies to the cigarettes.  There are even sometimes restrictions about cigarettes within a country, such as from province to province or state to state.  So you need to be more specific and check the regulations that apply specifically to your trip.
