Can I cash a check with only my signature on it?

My husband left me and I received my ta rebate check. It has his name on it also but was wondering if I could cash it without his signature on it.

only if you have a joint checking acct. or savings then only one signature is needed. If you have an acct. call your bank and ask them.

If you have  a joint account yes. If you don't the cheque is a legal document and if you sign it  - that is a fraudulent act.

Sorry he's gone, maybe you could just send it to him, if you know where he is.
