why the **** would you even try to catch a catfish with a duckling first of all it's a duckling and second how are you going to catch it? third little cute ducklings are usually follwed by big evil mama ducks that can poke ur eye out i think its best for all involved to just use bait

Yes you can.... while fishing along KY lake we saw a duckling that had been bitten by a snake... we thought we would save it but naturally it ended up dying. so my friend edned up recommending we use it as bait. We put it on a large hook and about an hour later we pulled up a 10 lb cat. Live one though, wouldn't recommend it.

stick fish is wrong catfish eat everywhere their ofactory senses take them I have caught them On crank baits and on plastic worms one time I had cast and before the bait hit the water the surface erupted and a catfish jumped out of the water lept up and ate my worm before it hit the surface. It must have been looking up into the sky and watched it coming out of the sky and was starving but they will eat anything they can get in thier mouth even ducklings but duckliings are much better baits for largemouth bass! (not that i would use one) but one of my customers had a ranch he would go to on the weekends and he told me the number of his ducklings one season was getting smaller about every fourth day. I had and gave him a giant rubber frog and told him to cast into the reeds and bring it (just the head) out slow and twitch it and shake the reeds doing so and he caught a fourteen pound bass in his pond and the ducks stopped disapeering. the giant is on his wall now.

yes catfish will eat baby ducklings, i've seen them come up and eat baby geese while swimming with their mother.

No.Catfish only feed near the bottom and any catfish big enough to eat a duckling would be feeding at night and almost never during the day where they have a harder time being stealthy.

Also it might be illegal.

yes bass, catfish, pike, muskie do eat ducklings - using them for bait is most likely illegal use a lure that looks like one...
