Ok my sister went to the doctor and came back with some pills but she wouldnt tell me what was wrong and what they were for. I looked at the name of the pills looked it up and found out what they were for. They were for a couple of things but through enough snooping I found out she got the pills for Trichomonas. I heard it was contagious and now Im worried because earlier that day I took a sip of her drink. She was drinking it through a straw but I drank it straight from the cup. I didnt think twice about doing it because she's my sister. So can I catch Trichomonas by drinking from the same cup as her or should I be ok?

Im worried and I need some answers from people who actually know what they are talking about and NOT GUESSING.

  1. If you were resourceful enough to discover the medication was to treat trichomonas, you should have read enough to know that's a type of vaginal infection.  Those sort of infections don't usually get spread via sharing a straw.  It could also be used to treat some other types of bacterial vaginal infections, none of which are spread through sharing straws or much anything else sisters would share.  Your sister is obviously sensitive to this subject, and I suggest now that you know you are in no danger - drop it.  It's her concern, and curbing your curiosity will do a lot to keep peace in the family.

  2. This is a sexually transmitted disease, unless you are going to have s*x with her, you are fine. Back off and give your sister her space and privacy.

  3. It is a sexually transmitted disease, which you can't catch by your casual contact.

  4. Uhm, no.  Not unless you had s*x with her.

  5. It's an STD, so unless you're having s*x with her you'll be fine.
