Can I catch tonsillitis?

Please don't be horrible about this...

Basically. I don't have any tonsils- I got them removed 14 years ago when I was 3, but I have a fear of getting ill.

About 2 years ago my sister had tonsillitis and for some reason (can't remember why) she didn't finish the antibiotics so ever since then she's had relapses of it...

Anyway now she thinks she has tonsillitis again, I have a horrible phobia of getting ill, but I don't have any tonsils. Can I catch it?

tonsillitis is the inflammation of the tonsils due to an infection. so You can catch the bacterial or viral infection thats causing tonsilitis. Since you do ont have ur tonsils you will not get tonsilitis you may just get a sore throat.
